Safety at sea

Distinguish locating and alerting devices by their role. EPIRB, PLB, MOB and SART are not different names for the same device.
Choose for your application
First identify what your requirement concerns: the vessel, an individual or survival equipment. Then compare the exact part numbers and manufacturer-described functions. Vessel requirements and device suitability are assessed case by case.
Do not overlook accessories
Mounts, cases, fixings and service equipment must match the correct device part number. Photos of a series or kit do not prove that every pictured item is included.
Information for checking existing equipment
Send the model, serial number, a label photo and a description of your requirement. Servicing and battery replacement follow the specific device's instructions. Archived references remain available to identify older equipment.
