The rescueME EPIRB3 has a manual-release bracket (Category II): the user removes the beacon from its bracket for deployment. Manual release does not preclude water activation after removal. It combines 406 MHz distress signalling, AIS for local locating, a 121.5 MHz homing signal, GNSS and Return Link Service. NFC allows status checks using a compatible phone.
