From measurement to display
Distinguish the display that shows information from the sensor that produces it. For wind, depth, speed, position or heading, record the required signal and existing equipment. Analogue and networked systems need different approaches.
The connector does not tell the whole story
Before choosing a cable or adapter, check the protocol, port, data direction and power supply. A connector adapter is not necessarily a protocol converter. Recorded connections state their specific conditions.
• Device models and connection photos.
• Protocol and information you want to transfer.
• Network structure, power supply and available cable lengths.
Find the component without getting lost in part numbers
Initial selection focuses on the main families. Cables, terminators and installation components remain accessible when you know the part number or system you want to connect.
