An autopilot is selected around the vessel's steering system. The controller is only one part: the correct control units, drives and sensors are also needed.
Identify the steering system first
Record whether steering is hydraulic or mechanical, along with details of the existing installation. Vessel length alone is not enough to select a drive unit. The final configuration follows the manufacturer's requirements for the specific application.
What we compare in a package
We separate included components from those that must be selected additionally. A package with a sensor and control unit does not necessarily include the correct pump or drive for every vessel.
• Controller and control positions.
• Heading sensor and control unit.
• Drive unit, power requirements and wiring.
Upgrade without guesswork
For an existing system, keep the part numbers of every unit, not just the controller. We can then assess what can stay, which interfaces are needed and what must be checked during installation.
