ECDIS describes the system's function. Selecting a package requires more detail: display version, installation method, units and functions.

Display and mounting method

The configuration catalogue separates JAN-7201 and JAN-9201 into desktop and console arrangements. Read the full name and package part number. A display image does not show every unit and controller in the configuration.

Base version and Radar Overlay

JRC presents Radar Overlay as an optional extension. The regional guide lists separate packages marked ROL. We therefore compare licences and required interfaces alongside the hardware, rather than assuming every package has the same functions.

Do not count internal units twice

Some items appear as parts of a larger included unit. Expanding the contents shows the hierarchy and helps avoid adding a component that is already included.

What remains specific to the installation

Package selection organises the equipment but does not complete the bridge design. Record connected data sources, charts, required functions and vessel details for technical review.
